Pricing

Pay per study. Refused studies are refunded.

Buy credits, then spend them on studies. A study is charged when you submit it and refunded in full if it refuses to run or fails. The first Quick read on a site you have verified is free.

Studies

Quick read

$49
60 sessions · one run · about 40 min
  • The audience you describe, 30 participants
  • A control group of 30 with no use for your product
  • Up to 20 actions each
  • Themes and quotes. No rates — 30 people is too few for a percentage to settle

For a first look at a page, or for an agent to run on every meaningful change. Your first one is free.

Friction study

$299
360 sessions · two runs · about 2–3 h
  • Up to two audiences and a control, 60 each per run
  • Run twice on different people, up to 30 actions each
  • The full report: findings rated blocker to cosmetic, each with where, who left, the fix and how to check it
  • Narrated visits, every participant in an appendix, PDF

For finding out why a flow loses people, with numbers you can compare later.

Phone vs desktop

$349
360 sessions · two runs
  • Your audience split into a 390×844 phone group and a 1280×800 desktop group, plus a control
  • 60 each per run, run twice
  • The full report, with every finding compared across devices

When you suspect the phone experience is losing people. An example.

Accessibility read beta

$249
300 sessions · two runs · about 2 h
  • Low-vision participants at 200% zoom with blurred vision
  • Colour-blind participants on a simulated deuteranopia rendering
  • Screen-reader users with no screenshot, only what your page announces
  • Your usual audience and a control, for comparison; 30 each, run twice

For a signup, checkout or form that has to work for everyone. Not a WCAG audit, and keyboard, switch, voice, motor and hearing needs are not emulated.

Language read

$299
360 sessions · two runs · about 2–3 h
  • Your audience reading in their first language, 60 people
  • The same audience reading English as a working second language (B1–B2), 60 people
  • A control of 60, and two runs on different people
  • What the second-language readers could not follow, in their words

For an international audience or copy full of jargon. We never draw people who cannot read English at all: they would measure our choice of participants, not your site.

Fix check

$149
same sessions as the study it re-runs
  • The exact participants of a previous study, on your changed site
  • What went away, what stayed, what is new

After you ship the change a study recommended. Same people, so the difference is your change and not who we drew.

Second visit beta

$199
same sessions as the study it follows
  • The same participants come back, remembering their first visit
  • Does what they could try for free make them want more?

For products where the free experience is most of what people see. Beta: the method is newer and the report says so.

One credit is one dollar. Buy a pack, spend it on any study; the larger pack adds 10%.

Continuous

$499 a month, credited $600 each month. For a team that runs a Fix check after each release and a Friction study when a flow changes. Cancel from your dashboard at any time; credits already added stay yours.

Refunds

A study is charged at submission. If it refuses — say the audience you described cannot be found in the pool, or the test account we were given is not clean — or if it fails on our side, the full price goes back to your balance. A refusal is the product working: we would rather not run than give you a report we cannot stand behind, and you do not pay for that.

Not for sale yet

These come up often. We do not sell them, and here is why.

Testing a chatbot or assistant.

Participants can type into a chat window today, but judging whether the answers were any good is not built.

Keyboard-only, switch, voice-control, motor and hearing access.

The Accessibility read emulates vision — zoom, blur, colour-vision deficiency — and gives screen-reader users only what the page announces. It does not emulate a screen reader's navigation (headings, landmarks, reading order), or any other assistive technology, and it is not a conformance audit. We do measure contrast, text size and tap targets on every page.

Survey answers and population numbers.

We tested simulated survey answers blind against a real survey, and simulated personas did worse than using no personas at all. So we report what participants did on your site, never what a market thinks.

Questions about paying

Why is a Quick read so cheap?

So it can run on every change. It is priced for a coding agent to call it without asking anyone.

What sets the price of a Friction study?

The alternative: a week of a researcher's time, or a research agency round. Not our compute cost.

Can I get an invoice?

Stripe sends a receipt for every payment. For anything else, write to the address on your invoice.
